Instructions

  • Brush a little oil over both sides of the bread, toast and then rub the garlic (cut in half) over one side of each slice
  • Put the Taleggio cheese into a bowl and mash lightly then spread over 6 pieces of toast
  • Do the same with the blue cheese
  • Rip the Parma ham into strips and use to top the Taleggio crostini then add a grind of black pepper
  • Place a little Harmony Sticky Fig Chutney on the top of each crostini and top with basil leaves
  • Serve straight away
  • Serving Suggestion
  • Although ideal as a snack at an informal drinks party these crostini could also be served as an appetiser. Allow 3 per guest and serve alongside a simple rocket and tomato salad.

Notes

Expert Tips

• Cut the baguette on the diagonal for the best shaped slices of crostini
• Short on time? Cut the bread thicker but don’t toast it
• Or serve the above combinations on crackers instead
• Vary the cheese – goat’s cheese can replace the Taleggio and Parmesan or Pecorino can be used instead of blue cheese (just slice it thinly)
• Use our Pearls Fig, Apricot and Apple Chutney in place of Harmony
